At the end of each academic year, all graduating students’ technology and email accounts are scheduled to be de-commissioned as part of Senior Sign-Out and PDM-IT off-boarding procedures. This includes access to axiUm, DSN login, and InsidePDM.
PDM IT coordinates this account management process with the Student Affairs office, and your accounts will not be disabled if you will need them to complete your studies. Students continuing post-doc studies at PDM will not have their accounts disabled.
Penn O365 Email Account Decommissioning
Your PDM email account (@upenn.edu) will be disabled on or about August 1 of your graduation year. Before the account is disabled, you may want to consider the following options:
- Set up an “alumni.upenn.edu” email forwarding account on the Penn Alumni website.
- Add an auto-reply to your email account to notify external senders that this account is going away.
- Back up your email so you can access it through a personal Outlook client.
OneDrive and Office365
Your access to One Drive and Office365 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) will be discontinued. These accounts are connected to the account provided by Penn.
You can set up a personal account with Microsoft (or you may get these same services provided by your next school) and just add the new credentials.
You will not need to uninstall your Office365 applications. If you do not select a new subscription option with Microsoft, your current Office 365 applications will revert to a “read-only” mode.

iPad
Your iPad will be remotely released from our management system as of graduation. After this time, you are free to factory restore your iPad if you choose to.
If your AppleID is your Penn email address (@upenn.edu), we strongly recommend that you change this before your email is deactivated.
If you have questions about any of the above, please contact the PDM IT Service Desk.
