How to resolve Chart Locks: Missing Radiology Consult (RADCON)

Things to Know

• Usually the RADCON is incomplete, not missing altogether.
  • Unanswered questions in the "Radiology Interpretation" section will result in a chart lock.
  • Often, an unanswered “Generalized Bone Loss” question is the cause.
• Chart locks only prevent users from changing a procedure's status to Complete. All other actions in a patient’s chart can be done.

Solution

1. Select patient. The Chart Lock window appears.
2. Click “Yes.”
3. The chart lock will show a RADCON date. Click EHR Module > Forms > Radiology Consult form.
4. Find the correct form date (Radiology Interp new tab).
5. Answer all questions under top “Radiology Interpretation” section.
6. Get faculty approval.
