How to resolve Chart Locks: Open Pathology

Things to Know

  • Only the Oral Medicine department resolves the Open Pathology chart lock, under the direction of the OM Manager. Students / residents cannot do so.
  • Chart locks only prevent users from changing a procedure's status to Complete. All other actions in a patient’s chart can be done.

Solution

  1. Select patient. The Chart Lock window appears.
  2. Click “Yes.”
  3. Click EHR Module > Forms > Physical Exams form (in the Pathology Report tab).
  4. Answer applicable pathology question(s).
  5. Click “Calculate” at the bottom right of the form. This action should remove the chart lock.
